On July 24th, St. John Neumann hosted a community conversation about mental illness and substance abuse. 60 people attended, many of whom asked questions or offered their own experiences. Rhianna Mattix, from Delaware-Morrow Mental Health & Recovery Services, and Todd Walts, from NAMI of Delaware & Morrow Counties facilitated the conversation.

Our July event at St. John Neumann was the most well-attended Rhianna and Todd have facilitated.  There is a real need for more opportunities to discuss this topic.  We are offering another community conversation about mental illness and substance abuse on August 29th from 7:00-8:30 in FFC, room C. This event is for those who were not able to come on July 24 as well as for those who did. The speakers create a supportive, confidential environment that fosters open discussion on common experiences.

Please “register” here. You will only indicate your attendance and have the opportunity to submit a question or topic you want discussed – you will not be asked for your name or other personal information. The questions submitted provide the format for the conversation. Any questions about this program? Contact Kim Mazzon.
