The Catholic Church is a Pro-Life Church. Blessed Pope John Paul II asked us to be “a people of life and a people for life” (The Gospel of Life, no.78).
The Respect Life Committee strives to build a culture of life, and uphold and promote the dignity of human life from the moment of conception to natural death. Please join us in upcoming pro-life events at St. John Neumann.
We will be traveling by bus to the March for Life in Washington, D.C., January 22-25, 2020. Please join us! More information and required forms are available in this packet. Registration is due by November 24th, please.
Pregnancy Support Services
Our Respect Life Ministry seeks to support women in all stages of pregnancy and beyond the birth of her baby. We work primarily with these three wonderful support services:
Mommies Matter seeks to remove barriers to empower pregnant single mothers in crisis. They provide individualized assistance and long-term goal planning to address each mother’s diverse needs. MM gives financial assistance and provides community partnerships to assist with transportation, childcare, education, housing, therapy, counseling, and trauma resolution. Mommies Matter assists mothers in giving life!
Join us for our annual fall fundraiser, Harvesting Hope, on November 20, 2019. More information, including how to register, is available here. Volunteer opportunities are available. Contact Monica Flynn at 614-353-6765.
Back in His Arms Again Ministry supports families who are experiencing the loss of a baby from miscarriage, stillborn, or infant death. BIHAA believes that every life is precious and deserving of respect. They provide collaborative resources, care, guidance, and financial services for families in need who are experiencing the loss of a child as well as those providing care. Contact email@example.com, 614-906-3115.
Pregnancy Resources of Delaware County provides life affirming support and services that strengthen families. We bring the message of life and hope to women and families experiencing unplanned pregnancies and parenting support and education to all parents.
Inclusion for Physical and Mental Disabilities
As directed by the US Conference of Catholic Bishops, “All persons have gifts to contribute to the whole church. When persons with disabilities are embraced and welcomed, and invited to participate fully in all aspects of the parish community, the Body of Christ is more complete.” The goal of this ministry is to identify opportunities for inclusion in the parish. Please visit this document for more information on becoming involved.
The Respect Life Committee welcomes new members. Please email Jerry Princehorn with any questions or ideas for the Respect Life Committee.
