Respect Life Ministry

The Catholic Church is a Pro-Life Church. Blessed Pope John Paul II asked us to be “a people of life and a people for life” (The Gospel of Life, no.78).  The United States Conference of Catholic Bishops has selected the theme “Every Life: Cherished, Chosen, Sent” for this year’s Respect Life Month.

St. John Neumann will be participating in the 40 Days for Life (40DFL) program this fall. 40DFL is a coordinated, national campaign to bring continuous prayer to local abortion clinics in more than 500 cities across the world. In Columbus, the program is sponsored by Greater Columbus Right to Life.  This fall, the vigil will be held at Planned Parenthood’s Surgical Center (3255 E. Main St., Columbus, OH 43213). St. John Neumann has adopted October 24th from 7am until 7pm. We are asking that a minimum of two volunteers sign up to pray at the clinic for each hour-long shift.  Please click here to access the sign-up and choose your preferred hour.

Parking is available on public side streets. We recommend S. Hampton Ave. Please observe any city parking restrictions and do not park in the nearby pregnancy help center lots.

Any questions, please contact Jerry Princehorn, cell (614-353-1474).

The United States Conference of Catholic Bishops has selected the theme “Be Not Afraid” for Respect Life month this year.

The Respect Life Committee strives to build a culture of life, and uphold and promote the dignity of human life from the moment of conception to natural death. Please join us in upcoming pro-life events at St. John Neumann.
