Natural Family Planning

NFP (Natural Family Planning ) Ministry follows God’s design for spacing and
planning family size. It cooperates with God and recognizes sexuality and
fertility as a God given gift. Natural Family Planning increases communication
and enhances romance and intimacy. This can be seen in the substantially lower
divorce rate which is less than 5% compared to the national divorce rate of 50
%. St. John Neumann church promotes and encourages married and engaged couples
to learn and use the method for family spacing and size.

The SJN Natural Family Planning ministry is dedicated to providing education,
programs and support to individuals and couples who are seeking to live out the
Catholic Church's teaching on sexuality through the use of Natural Family
Planning. We offer support through our NFP faith sharing group and through
practical instruction in the use of NFP.

We also seek to learn, educate and provide programs on John Paul II's
Theology of the Body and what this bold theology means for our relationships
with each other. Contact Christina Weber:

the NFP ministry programs offered at SJN.

  1. Creighton Model of Fertility Awareness Introduction courses
    Introduction
courses to the Creighton model of fertility awareness are offered at St. John
Neumann every three months. A certified instructor for the Creighton model will
present these courses. From these introduction courses couples may schedule
follow up sessions to learn the method in more depth from a certified instructor
    of the Creighton model.

For introduction courses, see the parish calendar.

  2. NFP Women's Support Group
Still have some questions after the introduction
or follow up sessions? Join other women to discuss topics such the benefits of
NFP to marriage, the SPICE acronym that the Creighton Method uses, the dangers
of artificial birth control, and all things  pregnancy related. We want you to
feel comfortable learning the method and ask questions of other women who
understand its benefits. This support group is also beneficial for those that
are comfortable practicing NFP and would like support and encouragement as well
as a chance to talk openly with other women who practice NFP in their marriages.

Meetings are held on the 4th
    Tuesday
of the month in the lower social hall.

  3. NFP Faith Sharing Ministry
You may also consider joining the NFP Ministry
to learn more about the beautiful teachings of the Church. They study various
church documents in addition to having fun, fellowship and potlucks. This group
is a great way to build fellowship and create support for all our NFP couples
and for those who want to learn more about NFP.

    Couples meet on the second
and fourth Sundays in the lower social hall after the 11 o’clock Mass.
