Dear New Parishioner,
I am joyful for the gifts God has given us at St. John Neumann, including having you as a part of our parish family. We are growing as parish, as our members invite others to rediscover their Catholic faith through the participation in the Sacraments, studying God’s Word, joining faith sharing groups, prayer and fasting, and Christian outreach to those in need. With many people struggling today, we have an opportunity to minister to our neighbors and fellow parish members by using the gifts and blessings God has given.
If you have not yet completed a Family Registration Form, please do so and return to the parish office. This lets us know you are here, so that we can better serve your faith needs.
As new families join our parish, it is important for them to get involved right away, both in supporting our mission and participating in the life of our community. At this time, I ask for your pledge to our parish’s Annual Offertory and Time & Talent Commitment program. This program has two components: a pledge of your financial resources to our parish offertory and a pledge of your time and talent to the parish community as a new member of our family. This packet contains valuable information to help you do both.
The parish needs faithful givers like you to support our daily faith community operations. Your regular giving through the offertory will continue to fund all of our ministries and outreaches, staff salaries & benefits, faith formation opportunities, monthly utilities, religious education programs, normal buildings & grounds maintenance, and other ministry and administrative costs. In short, it is your financial commitment that helps us operate our parish on a daily basis since over 95% of our total annual budget comes from the offertory.
I ask you to consider making a pledge using our Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT). Currently, 33% of our contributors use EFT, a safe and convenient alternative to envelopes and cash. EFT makes it easier for parishioners to support our parish on a regular basis, even when they can’t make it to St. John Neumann Church for the weekend Mass. EFT assures the parish of a more consistent offertory income. This helps us to better forecast, implement, track and adhere to our budget. Please consider trying EFT for one year, on a trial basis. If you don’t like it, you can cancel at any time and go back to your regular method of giving. Whether you choose EFT or our envelope system as your means to support our parish, I ask that you make a pledge to our.
Please complete an Offertory Commitment Form for you to pledge your Sunday offering and return it to the parish over the next few weeks, either by dropping it in the offertory basket or by mailing it to the parish office. Also, please take the time to browse our parish website. This is a great resource that describes our many activities, ministries and programs, as well as a listing of our parishioners. It offers many opportunities to share your God given gifts of time and talents and treasure. Consider using them to serve God and enrich the lives of others. Contact the chairperson of the area that interests you.
Your support of the parish is what keeps our church “lighted” with the presence of God, alive, vibrant and growing. Thank you for your presence in our community, for your commitment and loyalty. May God bless you abundantly.
Sincerely in Christ,
Fr. David Sizemore, Pastor
