This group comes together for prayerful support of SJN military members and their families. Regular meetings are low-key and rotate
between homes. The group focuses on prayer, friendship, fellowship and sharing. All are welcome!
The first Tuesday evening Mass each month is set aside for family members and friends to pray specifically for our parish soldiers.
Military Support Group Letter Writing Campaign
Please write a letter of encouragement, support, love, and prayer to our parish soldiers. They need to know that they are not forgotten and that others love them, support them, and pray for them often.
Pictures and names of parish family members’ soldiers are on the bulletin board in the back of church.
- Choose a specific soldier, a deployed soldier, or any soldier
- Write a letter
- Write on the envelope in pencil the specific soldier’s name, "any soldier", or "any deployed soldier" (We will address envelopes to protect our soldiers’ safety, privacy, and families.)
- Place a postage stamp on the envelope
- Drop your unsealed letter in the Military Support Group mailbox located in the gathering space by the military bulletin board
(Please keep your comments positive, avoid political views and statements, and remember that soldiers’ letters and packages can be searched at any time.)
Keep our military men and women in your thoughts and prayers as they try to reconcile their service to our country with their service to God.
Check for responses from our soldiers at the MSG bulletin board.
Prayer for Those in the Service
Lord Jesus, Savior of the World and King of Peace, watch over our sons and daughters in the service
of their country. Protect them from the physical and moral dangers of military life. Keep them close to You and help them live
the commandments.
Lord Jesus, give them the courage to serve their country with honor and dignity. Be with them when they are in danger;
strengthen them when they face hardships. Above all, Lord, grant that when their service is finished, they may return to us
sound in body and soul. Amen
