Children Becoming Catholic

Contact:  Paul Stokell, 740/965-1358 x100

We offer the OCI Adapted for Children for those young people between the ages of seven and sixteen who are:

  • Not yet baptized but of catechetical age (seven and up),
  • Baptized in a non-Catholic tradition and wishing to become Catholic, or
  • Baptized Catholic without having received any religious formation for other Sacraments (Confirmation, Eucharist, Reconciliation).

Classes are offered on Sunday mornings for the convenience of participants, and end in time to attend the 11:00 a.m. Mass.  As it is a ministry of the Church, there is no charge.

We welcome interested children at any time during the year.  A complete description of the Rite can be found here, courtesy of the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops.

We recommend those who take part in OCI for Children enroll in our Parish School of Religion classes appropriate for their age.

Interested? Take a moment to fill out the OCI for Children Registration Form (you can fill it our on your computer and print it, or simply print it out and complete it by hand).  You can then bring it or send it to our Parish Office.
